44-Year Salem Resident, Active Volunteer Dies at 69

Susan A. (Decker) Tucker died surrounded by her family.

Susan A. (Decker) Tucker age 69 of Salem, NH, died Friday at her home surrounded by her family.

She was born in Dorchester, MA, grew up and was educated in Arlington, MA. She was a resident of Salem for 44 years.

Susan was an activities assistant for the Wingate Nursing Home in Haverhill, MA. She had also previously worked for the State of NH division of Family Services in Salem, NH, and worked at K-Mart in Salem for over 20 years. Susan also was a hairdresser. Susan was active in the Salem, NH Little League, where she was a team coach, player agent on the Board of Directors. Susan also volunteered for the Dana Farber Pan Mass Challenge. She enjoyed gardening, traveling and her grandkids.

She is survived by her daughters:

Sharon McCarron of Maine

Tracy & her husband Tom Donahue of Salem, NH

Nancy Tucker of Salem, NH

Son: Bert Tucker of Georgia

Nephew: Scott Decker & his wife Rachel and their son Nolan of Florida

Grandchildren: Zachary & Sean McCarron

Great Granddaughter: Carla McCarron

Adopted Grandchildren: Katelynn, Raelynn, Kristen, & Raymond Giuffre 

Memorial visitation was Tuesday, April 9th from 5-7 PM. It was followed by a memorial service at 7 PM at Douglas & Johnson Funeral Home, 214 Main St, Salem, NH. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Dana Farber Cancer Institute, dana-farber.org
