According to a release, OFA-NH has teamed up with Mayors Against Illegal Guns to recognize the six-month anniversary of the Sandy Hook Elementary School massacre in Newtown, CT.

OFA-NH issued a statement on the event:

It’s been half a year since 20 children and six heroic staff members were senselessly taken at Sandy Hook Elementary School and Congress has yet to pass legislation to help reduce gun violence in the future. While an obstructive minority in Congress have stood with the gun lobby, the parents of those lost at Sandy Hook continue to fight valiantly, with the support of the overwhelming majority of Americans, for commonsense measures like expanded background checks.

Both Ayotte and Portman voted against the Manchin-Toomey amendment to expand background checks for gun purchases.

In early May, Ayotte defended her vote on Salem Patch.

The fundraiser will run until 1 p.m. and feature other prominent New Hampshire Republicans.
