A member of Boy Scout Troop 409 in Salem is working to raise money to buy an automated external defibrillator and donate it to the American Legion post.

Bryan Kerman, a Life Scout going for his Eagle Scout Project, says he will also be researching where AEDs are located in town, including businesses, and providing that list to Salem EMS and public safety officials.

Kerman has a benefit dinner this Saturday, May 10, at the American Legion Post 63 at 38 Millville St..

The dinner is scheduled from 4:30 p.m. to 7 p.m.
