Salem's fourth annual Citizen Police Academy will return to town this fall, running from Sept. 10 to Nov. 19. According to police, the academy is made possible due to a generous donation from the Salem Exchange Club. The classes are open to residents over the age of 18 as well as any Salem business owners. They are held on Tuesdays from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. with one Saturday class. For those interested in learning about law enforcement and getting an inside loo at the Salem Police Department, contact Lieutenant Joe Dolan at 603-893-1911 or jdolan@salempd.com for more information and an application packet. Applications must be submitted no later than July 19 due to high demand and limited space.
