Update: Police Say Hit-And-Run Driver In A Subaru Forester Struck Derry Cop At Construction Site

The officer was hit and received minor injuries while directing traffic on Chester Road on Wednesday morning. The driver has come forward.

Update: 9:51 a.m. on Nov. 13, 2025: On Wednesday night, Derry police were contacted by a woman who was the motorist involved in the collision. The woman is cooperating with the police investigation, according to an updated report. Derry police thanked the public for their assistance in the case.

DERRY, NH — Police are investigating a hit-and-run accident involving an officer injured at a construction site on Wednesday morning.

Around 11:15 a.m., an officer was directing traffic on Chester Road when an elderly woman driving a maroon Subaru Forester struck the officer. The right-side mirror struck the officer in the arm, causing an injury and a broken mirror housing, Capt. Vern Thomas of the Derry Police Department said. The incident was near North Shore Road.

“The vehicle paused briefly but then resumed travel eastbound on Chester Road,” he said. “Witnesses described the driver as an older female wearing eyeglasses.”
