Fatal Salem I-93 Crash Victim ID’d As MA Man; Merrimack Driver Involved In Crash: NHSP
Jermaine Adams of Haverhill died after William Russel "failed to slow or stop" before crashing into a Chevy Trax Feb. 1 near the state line.

SALEM, NH — New Hampshire State Police have released the names of a man who was killed in a crash on Interstate 93 in Salem last week, as well as a second driver involved in the incident Thursday.
Around 4:30 p.m. on Feb. 1, troopers and Salem fire and rescue teams were requested to a two-vehicle crash near the state line. According to Amber Lagace, the public information officer for the state police, “roadway evidence and witness statements” indicated William Russel, 59, of Merrimack, driving a 2017 Hyundai Santa Fe, “came upon heavy commuter traffic near the Massachusetts state line and failed to slow or stop in time to avoid crashing into a 2020 Chevrolet Trax.”
The Trax was driven by Jermaine Adams, 48, of Haverhill, MA. Salem firefighters attempted to save Adams’ life, but he was pronounced dead at the scene, Lagace said.
