Giordano Heads to Prison for One Year

The former Zoning Board of Adjustment chairman and state representative was sentenced this morning.

The Eagle Tribune reported this morning that former Zoning Board of Adjustment Chairman and state Rep. Ronald "Tony" Giordano has been sentenced on drug charges and was sent to prison for a year.

The sentencing took place at Rockingham Superior Court shortly before 10 a.m. Giordano had been free on $10,000 cash bail.

on four drug-related charges.

At that time, police said Giordano was charged with three counts of felony Oxycodone sales and one count of felony conspiracy to violate drug laws.

He later resigned from his position on the ZBA. His term had been scheduled to run until March 2014.

In early January, Giordano elected to plead guilty rather than face trial, which had been scheduled for Jan. 7.
