Governor to Sign Transportation Bill on I-93
The transportation bill will help fund key investments, including I-93 widening.
Gov. Maggie Hassan will sign the state's transportation funding bill into law during a ceremony Tuesday morning at the Windham weigh station on Interstate 93 south.
The bill raises the state gas tax from 18 cents to 22 cents a gallon and dedicates the revenues to transportation projects, such as the widening of I-93.
The bill also eliminates ramp rolls at Exit 12 on the F.E.Everett Turnpike in Merrimack and establishes a committee to study the effectiveness and efficiency of the state Department of Transportation.
Read the bill.
The bill signing is scheduled for 9:30 a.m.
The bipartisan legislation "strengthens investment in New Hampshire's transportation infrastructure and helps keep New Hampshire's economy moving forward by advancing critical road and bridge projects and finishing the expansion of I-93," according to the governor.
