Man Allegedly Used Elderly Woman's Card for Racetrack Gambling Sprees

The Union Leader reported this week that a Dracut, Mass. man allegedly used an elderly woman's bank account to go on gambling sprees at Rockingham Park and Seabrook Greyhound Park.
James Hughes, 53, is accused of withdrawing $48,000 for from the bank account of Irene Sparrow-Meade, who died on Dec. 5 at the age of 84.
According to the report, he will face trial on Sept. 30 on charges of theft by unauthorized taking and fraudulent use of a credit card for the ATM withdrawals he made in Salem. The account was allegedly drained from March 2009 to January 2010.
Further withdrawals may have also taken place at Foxwoods Resort and Casino in Connecticut.
