Man Convicted for Stealing, Gambling Elderly Woman's Money
The man allegedly withdrew thousands of dollars from the woman over several transactions at Rockingham Park.

A Rockingham Superior Court grand jury found a Dracut, Mass., man guilty Thursday for stealing thousands from the bank account of an 80-year-old woman to fund a gambling spree at Rockingham Park in Salem, according to the Union Leader.
The Union Leader has reported that James Hughes, 53, is free on bail pending his sentencing on theft and fraudulent use of a credit card charges. Hughes could face between 7 1/2 and 15 years in state prison for each of the offenses, which stem from the fact that Hughes stole $48,000 from a now-deceased woman in March 2009 not long after he started running errands for the woman.
