PLAISTOW, NH — Plaistow Fire, police, Haverhill Fire, and Boston MedFlight responded to an incident involving a man injured and unresponsive in a bucket of a rented lift Saturday.

Responders arrived at about 11:30 a.m. and found a man approximately 30 feet up in a rented boom lift. The patient was slumped over in the boom basket, bleeding, and not responsive. Crews immediately attempted to operate the electronic override controls but were unsuccessful. According to the Plaistow Fire Department, the boom arm near the basket also appeared to have been damaged from a possible tree strike.

A representative from the rental company quickly arrived on the scene, assessed the boom, and was able to use a hand-jack manual pump to lower the basket.
