Man Who Made Needle Threat Indicted on Robbery, Theft Charges

A Lawrence man was arrested in February.

A Massachusetts man identified as the shoplifter who used a needle to threaten loss prevention workers at Lowe's Home Improvement was indicted at Rockingham Superior Court this month.

Victor M. Deleon, Jr., 39, of 227 Bailey St. Apt. 2 in Lawrence, Mass. faces charges of robbery and theft by unauthorized taking.

While stealing saw blades from the store, Deleon allegedly pulled a hypodermic syringe from his pocket, pointed it at a loss prevention associate and shouted "I have AIDS."

The theft took place on Feb. 5, one day before Deleon was apprehended in Lawrence.

The arraignment documents also indicate that Deleon has been twice been convicted of theft of property or services.

A second man – Victor Garcia, 32, of Lawrence – was also reportedly present at the robbery. He is still at large.
