Firefighter in 'Fair' Condition After Motorcycle Crash
The motorcyclist struck by a van Friday is still hospitalized, and it's still unclear what caused the crash.

The Salem motorcyclist injured Friday night in a crash that shut down Main Street was in "fair" condition at Boston Medical Center on Wednesday, according to the Eagle-Tribune.
The motorcyclist, Sean Bonneau, 43, of Salem, is a Methuen, Mass., firefighter, according to the Eagle-Tribune. Police have said that Bonneau suffered serious facial and bodily injuries during the crash. He was transported from the scene to Lawrence General Hospital by the Salem Fire Department. He was then flown to Boston Medical Center by a DART medical helicopter.
It's still unclear what caused the accident, which police believe occurred when an eastbound 2000 GMC Savana passenger van, being driven by Peter Muiruri, 38, of Haverhill, Mass., attempted to turn left from Main Street onto Hampstead Road at about 11:29 p.m. Friday.
As Muiruri made the left turn he crossed into the path of the 2006 Honda motorcycle operated by Bonneau, at which time Bonneau collided with the right front corner of the van.
Police have said that they don't believe speed was a factor, although it still wasn't clear Thursday if drugs or alcohol contributed to the crash.
