Motorcyclist, Passenger Die During Multi-Vehicle Crash In Derry
Two motorcycles, traveling with a larger group, collided with a car at the intersection of North Main and Nesmith streets on Thursday.

DERRY, NH — A motorcyclist and his passenger died during a multi-vehicle crash on Thursday in Derry.
Around 6:30 p.m., police were sent to the intersection between North Main and Nesmith streets for a report of a crash between a sedan and two motorcycles. When police and fire and rescue teams arrived, they found a heavily damaged car and two bikes on the ground.
The driver of one of the motorcycles, a 21-year-old man, died at the scene. His passenger, a woman, 20, was taken by Derry EMTs to Elliot Hospital, where she died a short time later.

The second motorcycle's driver and passenger were also taken to the Elliot with non-life-threatening injuries. The driver of the car was taken to the Parkland Medical Center.
No one else was injured.

Capt. Vern Thomas of the Derry Police Department said the two motorcycles were traveling with a larger group before the crash and were northbound on North Main Street when the collision occurred.
“The car was entering North Main Street from Pinkerton Street,” he said.
The intersection remains closed, and traffic is being re-routed while the Derry Police Accident Reconstruction Team conducts the investigation, Thomas said around 9 p.m.
The names of the deceased and others involved are being withheld pending notification of their families.
