OBITUARY: Ruth M. Lumb Burke

Ruth M. (Lumb) Burke age 88 of Salem, NH, died Friday at the Windham Terrace, Windham, NH.

She was born in Methuen, MA, grew up and was educated in No. Andover, MA. She later graduated from Simmons College in Boston, MA. She was a long time Salem, NH resident.

Ruth worked and later volunteered for the Nevins Memorial Library in Methuen, MA, where she dedicated over 65 years. She was an active member of the Pleasant St. United Methodist Church in Salem, where she was a former Sunday school teacher and sang in the choir.

Ruth was predeceased by her husband William H. Burke and her daughter Paula Burke.

She is survived by her children:

Stephen W. Burke & his significant other Deborah J. Farmer of Londonderry, NH, Audrey & her husband Brian Stanley of Goffstown, NH, Cynthia Matson of Derry, NH, Janice & her husband Michael Farmer of Derry, NH

Brother: William Lumb of Methuen, MA

Daughter in law: Bonnie Burke of Salem, NH

16 Grandchildren, 7 Great Grandchildren, Several Nieces & Nephews.

Calling hours will be Tuesday, March 12th from 4-7 PM at the Douglas & Johnson Funeral Home, 214 Main St, Salem, NH. Funeral services will be Wednesday, March 13th at 10 AM at the funeral home. Cremation will follow.
