One Person Killed In Pelham Fiery Crash After Pick-Up Hits Tree

Pelham police say one person died at the scene on Mammoth Road in the single-vehicle crash Wednesday afternoon.

PELHAM, NH — Pelham police and fire responded to a report of a one-vehicle crash in the vicinity of 970 Mammoth Road Wednesday.

As first responders were heading to the crash at about 3:15 p.m., they were notified that the vehicle was fully engulfed in flames and the occupant was still inside. Police arrived at the scene and located a fully engulfed black 2010 Chevy Avalanche that had crashed head-on into a large tree off the shoulder of the roadway. Pelham Fire arrived and extinguished the fire as quickly as possible.

The driver, who was pronounced deceased at the scene, was the only occupant in the vehicle, according to police.

Pelham Police Chief Anne Perriello said the victim's name is not being released at this time.

The crash remains under investigation. Investigating agencies assisting with the crash include the Hudson Police Traffic Accident Reconstruction unit, the New Hampshire State Fire Marshall office, the NH State Medical Examiners office, and members of the Pelham Police Department.
