Police Memorial to Honor Fallen Heroes
The New Hampshire Law Enforcement Officers' Memorial is in Concord.
Gov. Maggie Hassan is among the speakers this morning at the annual New Hampshire Law Enforcement Officers' Memorial ceremony in Concord.
The event takes on an even somber tone with the recent death of Brentwood Police Officer Stephen Arkell, who died in the line of duty May 12 while responding to a domestic dispute.
The ceremony is held each May on conjunction with the Peace Officers Memorial Day and Law Enforcement Memorial Week in New Hampshire.
The governor has directed flags remain at half-staff through Arkell's funeral on Thursday. The New Hampshire Law Enforcement Officers' Memorial ceremony is scheduled to begin at 9:45 a.m.
The memorial is located outside of the Legislative Office Building and across the street from the Statehouse.
