Resident Reports Receiving Bloody Steak Knife in Mailbox

Two people were also arrested for theft.

The following arrest information was supplied by the Salem Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Friday, Nov. 22

  • 10:45 a.m.: A caller on Alta Avenue reported that her roommate punched her.
  • 2:11 p.m.: Police received a report of an accident with no injury on Stiles Road.
  • 2:27 p.m.: Police received a report of an accident with injury on Mall Road.
  • 3:50 p.m.: Elaina M. Guzman, 21, of 25 Jade St., Apt. #11, Methuen, MA was charged with willful concealment, theft. She was released on $1,000 personal recognizance bail.
  • 4:56 p.m.: Christopher Michael Overka, 38, of 26 Central St., Apt. #C, Hudson was charged with willful concealment, theft (third conviction) and criminal trespass. He was released on $2,500 personal recognizance bail.
  • 5:08 p.m.: Police received a report of a car vs. deer on North Broadway.
  • 5:49 p.m.: A 2-car accident was reported at the entrance to the Mall at Rockingham Park on Mall Road.
  • 6:36 p.m.: A caller on Mary Ann Avenue reported receiving a bloody steak knife in his mailbox.
