Salem Businesses to be Honored at Chamber Event Today

Salem businesses that will be recognized today include Canobie Lake Park, Daisy Cleaners and Food for the Hungry.

Two Salem-based businesses and one non-profit are among those being recognized by the Greater Salem Chamber of Commerce as 2013 Business Pillar Award recipients.

The organization announced Friday that Canobie Lake Park, Daisy Cleaners and Food for the Hungry will all be recognized at a ceremony on April 18 in Windham.

Canobie Lake Park has won the large business category, Daisy Cleaners has won the small business category and Food for the Hungry has won the non-profit category.

The idea of the pillar awards is to recognize businesses for achievements in their industry and impact on the community at large.

The fifth annual Economic Development Breakfast will play host to the award ceremony and will take place at 10 a.m. at Castleton Banquet Hall and Conference Center.

Delivering the keynote speech for the event will be Gov. Maggie Hassan. During her speech, she is expected to discuss her vision for the state's economic development with an emphasis on greater Salem.

An update from the N.H. Department of Resources and Economic Development (DRED) will also take place.

Windham's ConvenientMD will also be recognized under the category of "new business."
