Salem Man Indicted for Trying to Steal Officer's Gun During Fight

A Salem resident has been indicted on multiple charges after he tried to take a police officer's gun during a fight, according to the Union Leader.

According to the report, Dalton Cyr, 21, of Salem was indicted on charges of simple assault, resisting arrest and attempted taking of a firearm from a law enforcement officer.

According to a report on Salem Patch dating back to last fall, Cyr was taken into custody on Nov. 30 along with five other people after a fight on Stonegate Lane.

At that time, police said Cyr attempted to grab the firearm off a Salem officer during a struggle. While the officer thwarted Cyr's attempt, the officer sustained a hand injury and was later treated and released at Parkland Medical Center, police said.
