Salem Man Sets Course Record in Windham Fast & Flat 5K

Samuel Fazioli was the top finisher over the weekend.

A Salem man was the top finisher in Windham's annual Fast & Flat 5K this weekend, taking home the victory with an impressive time.

The sixth annual running of the event, which is hosted by the Windham Rail Trail Alliance and held at the Rail Trail, saw 318 people participate on Sunday morning.

Samuel Fazioli, 21, finished first with a time of 16:38, a course record. The old record of 16:40 was set in 2011 by Ryan Busby.

The top female finisher was Hannah Parker, 15, of Nottingham, who finished with a time of 19:48.

The WRTA offers cash prizes to the top male and female finishers.
