Salem Man Shot by Lawrence Police in Massachusetts

The incident took place early Saturday morning.

A Salem man was shot from behind by Lawrence, Mass. police in Lawrence early Saturday morning at a local party, according to police.

The man, identified by the Union Leader as Alexander Castro, 20, drove toward officers and collided with a cruiser, prompting an officer to fire a round which struck him in the buttocks.

According to Lawrence Police Chief John Romero, an officer initially responded to the scene for a loud party.

Castro was later arrested shortly after 5 a.m. on Lancelot Court in Salem.
