Salem Man Tabbed as 'Fugitive of the Week' Arrested in Mass
David Macrae was arrested in Methuen on Thursday.

A Salem man dubbed as the "Fugitive of the Week" by New Hampshire marshals was arrested Thursday in Massachusetts attempting to cash a fraudulent check.
According to the U.S Marshals Service, David Macrae, 38, was arrested by members of the Methuen, Mass. Police Department while at a local bank.
A teller at the bank contacted police after becoming suspicious about the check that had been submitted to be cashed.

Macrae was found to be wanted on multiple outstanding arrest warrants, including the parole violation stemming from his earlier conviction of larceny and an escape warrant issued by Salem Police.
He is also alleged to have continues his criminal activites resulting in several additional arrest warrants being issued for vehicle theft and other thefts and frauds.

Macrae was aired at the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force 'Fugitive of the Week' on Feb. 21. The show is broadcast on local networks and featured in local newspapers.
The arrest came wit hteh assistance of Salem Police, Rockingham County Sherrif's, Haverhill, Mass. Police, Methuen Police and many other area law enforcement agencies.
Macrae was processed and charged as a fugitive from justice on the outstanding N.h> warrants and charged with several outstanding Mass. warrants.
He is expected to be held pending his initial court appearance and transfer back to N.H.
