Salem Police Respond to Two Daytime Burglaries
The incidents took place on Wednesday afternoon.

The Salem Police Department is asking residents to be vigilant in reporting suspicious activity, vehicles and people after responding to two more daytime burglaries Wednesday.
Salem police and detectives first responded to a residence on Howard Street at 1 p.m.
According to Deputy Police Chief Shawn Patten, the homeowner returned home to find the front door kicked in and the home ransacked. A computer, jewelry box and several credit cards were stolen.

The theft is estimated at $2,000 and there are no witnesses or suspects at this time.
At 4 p.m., police and detectives responded to Pleasant Street for another bugrlary. The suspects appeared to have forced their way through a window off of a porch. The home was also ransacked, but it appears that only a checkbook was stolen. There are also no witnesses or suspects for this incident at this time.
