A local cheerleading squad is raising money to fund a trip to compete on the big national stage later this month.

The Salem Rams Division 12 Cheer Squad recently took first place in the regional championships, earning them a birth for nationals in Florida.

A GoFundMe.com page has been started to help raise funds for the 15-member team, which also marched in the annual Salem Holiday Parade on Sunday

"Please help our girls make their dreams come true by making a donation," reads the page, created by Lauren Strob. "No amount is too small and all donations are greatly appreciated! We know the holiday season can be tough, but anything you can spare will help us with the cost of the trip. All money made will be divided evenly among the 15 girls on the team. Thank you and Happy Holidays! Go Rams!"

More details about the trip and fundraising efforts can be found here.
