Salem Teen Accused of Helping Man Rob Nashua Store
Police say she distracted the clerk, then acted as a lookout as her boyfriend robbed Lake Street Convenience in Nashua.
Police have arrested a Salem teen for her alleged role in an armed robbery of a Nashua convenience store clerk last November.
The Salem Police Department arrested Sarah Kahn, 17, of Salem, on a warrant out of Nashua for criminal liability to robbery, a Class A felony. She was taken to Nashua for processing and is scheduled to be arraigned May 23.
Nashua police said the charge stemmed from the armed robbery of Lake Street Convenience, at 49 Lake St., on Nov. 14, 2013. In the robbery, a man struck the clerk in the head with a tire iron and took an undisclosed amount of money from the cash register. The clerk suffered lacerations to his head and later received several staples at a local hospital to close the wounds, according to police.
The robber fled the scene prior to police arrival. Investigators later identified Michael Warner, 21, of Nashua, as the armed robber. Police said he pleaded guilty to robbery and first degree assault in April 2014.
The continued investigation led police to Kahn, Warner's girlfriend at the time, for assisting in the robbery, according to police.
Police said that Kahn initially distracted the clerk which allowed Warner to attack the clerk without warning, and she then acted as a lookout while Warner continued to assault the clerk and stole money.
Kahn was being held at the Nashua Police Department on $20,000 cash or surety bail pending arraignment May 23.
A Class A Felony is punishable by up to 15 years imprisonment, exclusive of fines.
