Selectmen Table North End Sewer Project
An unexpected $1 million facility would be needed in order to hook the homes into the town's sewer system.

Salem will hold off on a municipal sewer installation project on School and Bridge streets because a roughly $1 million wastewater pumping station would need to be built in order to bring the service to the roughly 100 homes in that area, according to the Eagle-Tribune.
The Eagle-Tribune has reported that the sewer project — which has been discussed for years — and an associated $12,500 feasibility study have been tabled because selectmen don't feel voters will support the multimillion-dollar bond at next year's town meeting, the warrant for which is already projected to have several large projects.
