Vehicle Reportedly Strikes Gas Line; Prompts Evacuation

As the snow continues to pile on Salem, a vehicle has reportedly hit a gas line prompting an evacuation this morning, according to a news alert.

The incident, which was reported at around 8:30 a.m., took place at 8C Industrial Way. The property is listed as the location of Alicare Medical Management. The accident caused a leak in the natural gas line, prompting an emergency shutoff being triggered.

The Salem Fire Department is on scene at this hour. There is no estimated time of arrival for the gas company.

The leak, which has reportedly been stopped, is a propane line. Eastern Propane has been called to the scene.
