
A motorcycle accident in Salem on Monday night sent one local man to the hospital with minor injuries.
Jeffrey Kayo, 42, of Pelham was transported to Lawrence General Hospital. At the time of the incident, rescue personnel were concerned that Kayo may have suffered two broken legs.
Salem Police responded to the crash on 98 Brady Ave. at 6:11 p.m.

Upon arrival, officers learned that Craig Bowles, 44, of Windham had been driving north on Brady Ave. in a black Cadillac. Kayo was traveling east on Route 38.
Bowles did not see Kayo, possibly due to the setting sun, and failed to yield the right of way. Kayo was unable to avoid a collision and was thrown from his motorcycle, landing on a nearby lawn.

Bowles voluntarily responded to Parkland Medical Center for a blood draw. Alcohol or drugs do not appear to be a factor in the collision.
