Work on Casino Regulations Could Begin Thursday

State officials may meet Thursday with a consultant hired to assist them in the process.

New Hampshire Gaming Regulatory Oversight Authority may begin this week the process of working with a special consultant to devise a casino regulation plan that lawmakers could find acceptable, according to the Associated Press.

The Associated Press has reported that the panel is scheduled to meet Thursday, and that it may meet with WhiteSand Gaming of Nevada and New Jersey. WhiteSand was recently hired as consultant for an amount that cannot exceed $135,000, and the panel has until Dec. 15 to submit draft legislation governing the licensing and enforcement of casinos in the Granite State, according to the AP.
