The Windham Fire Department’s Adopt-a-Hydrant/Cistern program to keep fire hydrants/cisterns cleared of snow this winter is working well, with citizen volunteers digging in to help out.
In this photo the Farrell family clear the recent snow from one of the 3 hydrants that they adopted at 36 Northland Rd. Kira, Age 9 is a 3rd grade student at the Golden Brook School and Kaitlin, who is almost 7 years old is a 1st grade student at Golden Brook School. Mom, Cindy, also helps out.
There are still plenty of hydrants and cisterns left to adopt and lots of winter to go. Please call the Windham Fire Department at 603-434-4907 and speak with Deputy William P. Martineau if interested in participating.
