Update: New Hampshire Power Outages Climb Back Up To 38,000
Blustery first day of November leads to tens of thousands of without power as Granite State utility companies work to restore electricity.

GRAY, ME — The first day of November brought with it a wind advisory for most of New Hampshire, offering gusts of up to 55 mph, as well as tens of thousands of Granite State utility customers without power. The National Weather Service issued a wind advisory Friday morning, warning of gusts in the wake of a cold front. The wind is expected to stay strong until early evening.
"Wind gusts of 50 mph or higher have the ability to down large tree limbs," according to the alert. "This will likely result in power outages. Use extra caution when driving, especially if operating a high profile vehicle. Secure outdoor objects."
