Temporary Injunction on Conflict Ordinance
The Board of Selectmen members were informed today.

UPDATE 3:30 PM: Town Administrator Dave Sullivan said today that the court's decision to file a temporary injunction on Windham's new conflict of interest ordinance took "all of five minutes."
Sullivan and town Atty. Bernie Cambell were present today for the decision by Rockingham Superior Court Judge Kenneth McHugh.
According to Sullivan, the decision gives any respondents until July 3 to file an appearance, and a deadline of August 2 to file an answer to the town's plea.

He said that the temporary injunction will allow for the completion of summer work, such as finishing up the Griffin Park project, without conflict of interest problems.

A temporary injunction was issued by a judge today on the town's recently passed conflict of interest ordinance, according to a message to the Board of Selectmen sent by Windham Human Services Coordinator Kathleen Davis.
According to the email message to Selectmen, which was sent to Windham Patch by Chairman Bruce Breton, the temporary injunction will stand until a time to be determined in August. That timeframe will likely fall after the final hearing on the case.
"The Board cannot enforce any provisions of the ordinance until the judge lifts the temporary order or following the final hearing – whichever comes first," Davis said in the message.
