Less than 10 hours after a possible lightning strike sparked a fire that left a Windham home uninhabitable, another blaze broke out at 10 Forest St.
Firefighters responded to the location after receiving multiple calls and, upon arriving at the scene, found heavy fire coming from an attached garage and the top floors and roof of a 2.5-story structure.
First responders were initially led to believe that the homeowners were still inside and unaccounted for, and efforts to enter the structure were hampered due to the intensity of fire and unsafe conditions of the structure. A second alarm was called, bringing additional manpower and water to the scene.

The fire was brought under control in about two hours, but fire personnel remained on scene throughout the night wetting down areas and assisting with the fire investigation.
Multiple lightning strikes from thunderstorms were in the area at the time the fire broke out, and it appears that this fire was a result of lightning.
