Initial investigation showed that the tractor trailer struck the Chevrolet, and then the Chrysler was hit. All three vehicles were traveling northbound on I-93. State police said alcohol does not appear to have been a contributing factor in the crash.
Members of state police troops B and G, New Hampshire Department of Transportation personnel and members of the Salem Fire Department all assisted at the accident scene. I-93 was reduced to one lane in the area for approximately 45 minutes during the investigation and was reopened once the vehicles were removed from the scene.
The accident investigation is ongoing, and anyone with information is urged to call state police at 603-672-3333.
