2. SUBMISSIONS WANTED FOR HOLIDAY LIGHTS CONTEST: We are still looking for submissions for our 'Deck the House' contest. You could win free electricity for a month, or $100,000 for Windham schools if you have the best house in the country. Submit a photo or video of your home here.

3. WHS WINTER TEAM PICTURES TODAY: Sports teams will have their pictures taken today for the winter season starting at 1:30 p.m.

4. THIS DAY IN HISTORY: On this day in 1865, the 13th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution, officially ending the institution of slavery, is ratified. "Neither slavery nor involuntary servitude, except as a punishment for crime whereof the party shall have been duly convicted, shall exist within the United States, or any place subject to their jurisdiction." With these words, the single greatest change wrought by the Civil War was officially noted in the Constitution.
