1. TODAY'S FORECAST: Another warm, sunny day is expected in Windham. Anticipate a high of 87 with an overnight low of 61.

2. FUNERAL TODAY FOR WINDHAM TODDLER: A funeral will take place at 11 a.m. today at St. Matthew Parish for Windham toddler Gabriella "Ella" Okerman, who died on Monday following a backyard pool accident.

3. YOUTH SOFTBALL UPDATES: Ask and we shall deliver. Several readers have asked us on Facebook or via email for youth softball updates to go along with our Little League baseball updates. The U10 and U12 softball team updates are listed below:

U10: District runner-up champions, headed to the N.H. State Tournament this weeked in litchfield.

U12: District champions, also headed to the N.H. State Tournament this weekend in Litchfield.

As for the boys, the U10 lost a close one to Manchester East, falling out of the tournament just one game away from the District Championship. The U11 team is 3-0 and headed to the District Double Elimination tournament next week.

4. THIS DAY IN HISTORY: As the 1970s came to an end, the age of disco was also nearing its finale. But for all of its decadence and overexposure, disco didn't quite die a natural death by collapsing under its own weight. Instead, it was killed by a public backlash that reached its peak on this day in 1979 with the infamous "Disco Demolition" night at Chicago's Comiskey Park. That incident, which led to at least nine injuries, 39 arrests and the cancellation and forfeit of a Major League Baseball game, is widely credited—or, depending on your perspective, blamed—with dealing disco its death blow.
