2. SCHOOL BOARD TO HOLD JULY MEETING: The school board will host its July meeting at the Community Development Department beginning at 7 p.m. A discussion of the district CIP items and information on the board's recent survey results will be provided.

3. KEVIN SMITH AT THE ROCK: Gubernatorial candidate Kevin Smith will be at Rockingham Park tonight as part of a weekly series featuring five of the candidates this summer. He will speak starting at 7:30 p.m.

4. THIS DAY IN HISTORY: On this day in 1941, New York Yankees center fielder Joe DiMaggio fails to get a hit against the Cleveland Indians, which brings his historic 56-game hitting streak to an end. The record run had captivated the country for two months.

5. A RECENT RETIREMENT: Yesterday we informed readers on Facebook of the recent retirement of Windham Police Capt. Carl Wagner. We will have more later this week on Wagner's career in Windham. He served on the town's force since 1988!
