Windham Police closed down Route 111 at the Route 28 intersection as rescue personnel were able to free the injured.

The three patients in the minivan were transported by ambulance to Parkland Medical Center in Derry.

An ambulance from Salem assisted Windham in the transport of the driver of the flat bed wrecker, who was also brought to Parkland Medical Center.

Another concern for emergency crews at the scene included fluids that were leaking from the flat bed, as the engine on the vehicle had sustained heavy damage. The fluids were leaking down into a large body of water.

The Southern N.H. Hazardous Materials Mutual Aid District responded along with officials from the N.H. Department of Environmental Services.

Absorbent equipment was deployed along the waterway to capture any contaminate, and it was later found that the truck's fuel tanks remained intact and that small amounts of anti-freeze and hydraulic fluids were the only products.

The road was reopened approximately 90 minutes after all vehicles and emergency crews had left. The accident is under investigation by the Windham Police Department.
