High School Principal Search Nets 25 Candidates
Principal Tom Murphy will depart for Billerica Memorial High School this summer.

With Windham High School Principal Tom Murphy set to depart for his alma mater in Billerica, Mass. at the end of the school year, a wave of candidates have responded to the open position.
As of Tuesday, the Windham School District had received 25 applications.
Superintendent Dr. Henry LaBranche said that professional staff will be vetting applications on Friday. Joining LaBranche will be his replacement, Winfried Feneberg, and Murphy.

"This is going to be an aggressive process," said LaBranche of the search.
A search committee has expanded to 15 people, and similar to the superintendent search, the group will be a comprehensive mixture of parents, students and leadership staff.

"I'm feeling very confident that we're giving you a very comprehensive perspective," said LaBranche.
Parents on the committee, although not disclosed during the meeting by LaBranche, were recommended by the leadership at WHS.
The interview time period for the candidates will run from April 23 to April 30.
The final level of the interview process will also include building tours.
The new principal will be the third in the school's history, following in the footsteps of Richard Manley and Murphy.
