Lights Out at Busy Windham Intersection?

NHDOT rejects town's recommendation to keep traffic signals at the junction of Routes 111 and 111A.

Last month, Windham Patch reported that the Windham Board of Selectmen held a special meeting and voted, 3-2, in favor of keeping traffic lights at the intersection of Route 111 and 111A.

The decision was non-binding, and this weekend the Lawrence Eagle-Tribune, reported that the New Hampshire Department of Transportation (NHDOT) has decided to move against the recommendation and remove the traffic lights anyway.

The report indicated that the signals will likely remain through the summer of 2015, once roadwork is complete on the 111A relocation and improvements are finished at exit 3 off Interstate 93.
