A familiar Windham name is a candidate for a vacant principal post at Billerica High School in Billerica, Mass.
According to a report by the Lowell Sun last week, Windham High School principal Tom Murphy met with officials for an interview last week. He is one of four finalists for the position.
The report adds that Murphy was formerly an assistant principal in Billerica before leaving for his current post in Windham in 2009. He also graduated from BHS in 1986.

Murphy has had plenty of success in his three years in Windham, so much so that he was named N.H. Secondary School Principal of the Year in a January ceremony.
Under his tenure, WHS has also produced a Teacher of the Year in Bethany Bernasconi, Teacher of the Year finalist in Ryan O'Connor and several other department specific state award winners.
