Murphy a Candidate for Principal of the Year
The top honor in the state for the principal position will be announced in January.

A Windham administrator is in the running for a top honor in the state that will soon be announced.
Windham High School Principal Tom Murphy was acknowledged as a candidate for Secondary School Principal of the Year during the Dec. 4 School Board meeting.
He briefly addressed the nomination, which was mentioned by Chairman Bruce Anderson, saying that the honor is really about the students and staff members rather than himself.

The top honor comes less than three years after Murphy jumped into the role of principal. He stepped up from the role of vice principal in 2010 when Richard Manley stepped down from the position to teach history.
The N.H. Association of School Principals also has awards for top administrators in the position on the middle school and elementary school levels.

The ceremony will take place during the winter workshop on Jan. 10, 2013.
The 2011 Principal of the Year was Robert C. Manseau of Campbell High School.
