Nesmith Library Welcomes Decorated Combat Vet, Author

Here are a few things you should know today in Windham.

1. A Civil visit. The Friends of the Library of Windham present author, Frank Grzyb, for a special presentation of his book Hidden History of Rhode Island and the Civil War at the Nesmith Library on Tuesday, December 3rd at 6:30.  Frank Grzyb's book will be available for purchase and signing following the presentation.  This program is free and open to the public.  Please register for this program by calling the Nesmith Library at 603-432-7154. Frank Grzyb is a decorated combat veteran and the author of three previous books: Touched by a Dragon, Ain't Much of Warand Rhode Island's Civil War Hospital. His work has been featured in such magazines as America's Civil WarCivil War Monitor andThe Civil War Times. When not enjoying his family, Frank serves as a guest lecturer at high schools, universities and military, civic and religious organizations.

2. An odd pairing in Windham? This weekend the Windham Actors Guild Presents Neil Simon's The Odd Couple at the Searles School and Chapel. Showtimes are Friday, Nov. 22 at 7 p.m. and Saturday, Nov. 23 at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. Tickets are $15 for adults, $12 for students and $10 for seniors. 3. The weatherman says ... Today's forecasted high, according to Weather.com, is 46 degrees. The skies, however, should be partly cloudy with a 0-percent chance of rain. The overnight low is 32 degrees.
