Fresh off the team's first trip to a state championship game and an upgrade in its division, Windham High School's football program is introducing a new event as an unofficial means of kicking off the season.
The fundraiser, titled the 'Gridiron Gala,' is meant to be a public event as well as an introduction of the new team. The WHS cheerleaders will also be introduced at the gala, which is scheduled for Aug. 23 from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. at Castleton Banquet and Conference Center.
According to Holly Breton, who is helping to organize the function, there will be a raffle, silent auction, appetizers, DJ's, dancing and a cash bar.
