New Leaders Tapped to Lead Anti-Casino Charge

Businessman Steve Duprey and former Democratic State Sen. Harold Janeway have been chosen to lead efforts against a casino in New Hampshire.

Republican businessman Steve Duprey and former Democratic State Sen. Harold Janeway have been chosen to lead two anti-gambling groups' renewed efforts against a casino in New Hampshire, according to the Associated Press.

The appointment of Duprey and Janeway was announced Tuesday by the Granite State Coalition Against Expanded Gambling and Casino Free New Hampshire. The former spokesman for the charge, Jim Rubens, is running for U.S. Senate.

The Associated Press also reported that the panel tasked with drafting legislation for the regulation of the new casino hopes to complete its recommendations Friday.
