Police: Attempted Burglary Suspects Have Been in Border Towns

Two incidents took place yesterday involving a male and female.

Windham Police have issued a bulletin giving more detail to residents on yesterday's attempted burglaries, indicating that the suspects are still at large and similar activity involving the two suspects has happened in bordering towns.

According to police, at 2:40 p.m. on July 31, two attempted residential burglaries occured in the West Shore Road neighborhood.

In the first instance, a white male in his mid-20's wearing jean shorts and a blue/gray sleveless shirt rang the doorbell at the front door of the residence.

The man fled on foot after the homeowner appeared in the window, as did a small black car that was waiting near the residence.

A second instance saw a female suspect asking questions of a teenager who answered the door. The bulletin did not indicate the specifics of those questions, but said that the woman also left in a small black car.

Residents are being asked to monitor their neighborhood or street for suspicious persons and vehicles.

Residents are being asked to call WPD at 603-434-5577 or dial 9-1-1 if they observe something or someone suspicious.
