Public Budget Hearings on the Horizon in Windham

Here are five things you should know today in Windham.

1. Have your say on how your tax dollars are spent. Windham Selectmen have scheduled public hearings on a $180,000 bond to build a multi-use recreation field near Spruce Pond and on the proposed town budget and warrant for 2014. The hearings are scheduled for Monday, Jan. 13, at 7 p.m. at the Community Development Department.

2. Get financially right in 2014. Heritage Baptist Church in Windham is offering Financial Peace University, the world- renowned course that provides a simple approach to sound spending and financial planning, which begins on Monday, Jan. 13. The first class is FREE. Check out the details here.

3. The weatherman says. Today's forecasted high rises again, this time to 28 degrees with mostly sunny skies, and there is a 0-percent chance of snow. The overnight low is 15 degrees.
