SARL Pick of the Week: Marsalis

Each week we'll bring you a pet at the shelter in need of a good home.

From the Salem Animal Rescue League

Whomever adopts Marsalis wins the Lottery! Why do we say that?  Because his foster moms say so!  Marsalis had a medical issue when he first came to SARL which was due to the transport process.  He is healthy as a horse now and ready to go home for the holidays!

He went out to foster over a period of time with two different families.  Both cannot say enough good things about him.  He is still a pup at 10 months and even though he has been in a shelter setting a good portion of that time he is 95 percent housebroken.

He is described as super intelligent and he wants so much to please.  His little front legs are bowed, a product of his birth, but they are strong and actually endearing.  He loves all type of play, with or without toys, running and fetching, in other words just being the puppy that he is.

He is great on a leash and loves to go on walks or runs.  At the end of the day he is ready to kick back and join the evening activities which he hopes includes being held and cuddled.  Marsalis is really just the perfect dog, particularly if you live where there is a weight limit for dogs, he is under 25 pounds, part Chihuahua and Dachshund.
