Selectmen to Discuss PSNH Effort During Recent Storms
Communication from the utility company will be part of the discussion.

In recent storms, Windham has been hit hard with power outages, with Public Service of New Hampshire customers sometimes losing power for hours or days on end.
Windham Selectmen will have a PSNH presentation tonight which will involve a discussion on recent storms, general information about the electrical system, storm communication and restoration practices in general.
Customers in town lost power by the hundreds as recently as last week. During that storm, Windham was one of the few communities impacted by outages.

Scattered reports of outages in town also took place in January and February.
In recent years, PSNH customers in Windham have dealt with even larger outage situations.

The historic October 2011 snow storm that rolled in just before Halloween saw some residents without power for over a week.
Over 3,000 also lost power during last fall's massive Hurricane Sandy.
This isn't the first time the board has discussed storm communication.
Following the 2011 storm, the Windham Fire Department gave an update on how things were handled and what improvements could be made, including the implementation of a WFD Twitter account, usage of the AlertNow system and daily updates on the town website.
